Anything is Possible - Summer Program
AIP - "Anything is Possible" is proud to present a summer program for children with special needs. Your child will be engaged in activities such as: Arts & Crafts, Reading Programs, Music Workout and various Academics. AIP believes that the more activities our children are involved with they will help speed their progress or reveal any hidden talents! This is a Branchburg Board of Education Approved Program and the program operates in cooperation with the Branchburg Community Educational Council.
Location: Central School, Branchburg, NJ
The program will run from July 7th through July 24th
Monday – Thursday, 9:15 am to 3:45 pm.Registration Dates: April 21– June 1 (must call first)

The Arc of Monmouth will launch its transition support group for families of high school students with intellectual disabilities on Monday, April 28, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Arc of Monmouth, 1158 Wayside Road, Tinton Falls, NJ 07712. The focus of the group will be transition from high school to adulthood. Students are invited to attend a Pizza and Movie Night while parents meet.

Community Outreach Program: Theatre for Success
Using theatre to change and better lives through laughter and discussion
The Alliance for Disabled in Action is teaming up with VSA Arts of NJ, lucky participants will engage in theatre activities to improve their day-to-day lives. These theatre techniques will have participants improvising skits, writing scenes, and working as an ensemble to create a work in process presentation after 10 sessions lasting 90 minutes in length. Throughout the residency, participants will create their very own company becoming experts in the design and execution of all professional aspects.

Family-Educator Collaboration: Building Culturally Responsive Relationships
In education, collaboration between families and educators is essential to ensuring that the student is the central focus. Join us in learning how you can build that important bridge in your district.
During this free training, parent/educator teams will learn ways to develop culturally responsive relationships between families of students with disabilities and educators, for the purpose of improving academic and social achievement.
Your team should include at least one parent and one educator (e.g., child study team member, special education teacher, related services provider, or inclusion facilitator).
Co-sponsored by the New Jersey Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (NJOSEP) and Statewide Parent Advocacy Network (SPAN), funded by I.D.E.A. Part B Funds

Parents Empowerment Academy: Empowering the Statewide Parent Movement
NJPC is offering a FREE five-week Professional Parent Advocacy Training program for parents, grandparents, foster parents, adoptive parents, and other caregivers. Parents and caregivers attending the training are given the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge of the systems that serve their families, their rights and responsibilities within those systems, and the advocacy, professional, and collaborative skills needed to successfully negotiate those systems. Parents will become better able to advocate for themselves and their communities, resulting in increased access to appropriate care and treatment for all children. Professional Parent Advocacy is approved by DYFS for foster, adoptive and kinship training. Lunch will be served and transportation stipends are available. Early registration is recommended.
