Protection and Advocacy for Voter Access (PAVA)

What is PAVA?

The PAVA program was created by the Help America Vote Act of 2002 (HAVA). The purpose of this program is to ensure full participation in the electoral process for individuals with disabilities, including registering to vote, casting a vote and accessing polling places.

Administration for Children, Youth and Families, Administration on Developmental Disabilities (ADD) in the federal Department of Health and Human Services administers the PAVA program.
